Mrs. Kennedy teaches Band and Orchestra at Howbert Elementary, West Elementary and Orchestra at Midland.

She graduated from College of the Sequoias and Fresno State University, CA.

She taught elementary and assisted at Middle School band for 8 years in California before moving to Colorado where she got to be a stay-at-home mom for a few years before going back to teaching music. Since working in Colorado she's taught general music, band, orchestra & choir during her 30+ year career. 

Her hobbies are family time, walking and exercise, writing music for her students, sewing, working with her Schipperkes, going to dog shows and teaching them tricks. 

She also enjoys playing in her church band and spending time with her family.

Ms. Casto is a dedicated and nurturing band educator. She teaches students the essential skills to be informed and confident musicians and developing human beings. She loves working with young musicians in the community, by adjudicating for Solo and Ensemble Festival and assisting with Honor Bands.

Ms. Casto is passionate about performing in various types of orchestras, She frequently performs with Pueblo Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra of the Springs. She enjoys being able to learn and play a wide range of repertoire, especially music that isn't played often.

Ms. Casto earned her Master's Degree in Oboe from Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Oboe Performance and Bachelors Degree in Music Education from the University of Maryland, College Park.

When Ms. Casto is not performing or teaching, she enjoys traveling and exploring with her husband and dog, interior design, and up-cycling furniture.
