Front Office
Hi, my name is Pat Joslin and I work in Midland’s front office as an Administrative Assistant. This is my fourth year with Midland. I love it here and look forward to come to work and see the kiddos. They make my day!
I’ve worked in the medical billing field and accounting in several different positions over the past 40 years. My switch to this position at Midland has been a God send. I needed to get away from the stress and anxiety in the medical world.
I was born and raised in Michigan, but I have been in Colorado Springs for over half my life now. I have 3 sons, and 4 grandsons; one is going to college in Michigan to become a teacher. And we have 2 dogs.
I love to go camping, motorcycles, hiking and fishing and spending time with my sons and grandsons.
My name is DeeDee Smith and I am the School Staff Assistant here at Midland Elementary.
I was born and raised in Northern California and spent many years running youth, teen and Summer Camp programs at the YMCA in Sacramento and San Francisco.
I moved here to Colorado Springs about 27 years ago and began working in the Communications industry soon after. I 'retired' right after the pandemic in 2022 and landed the perfect retirement job here at Midland! I love my Midland family and it's good to be back working with young people.
When I have free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, knitting and hanging out with my pets - Toby, my Yorkie, and Moose, my big lazy cat.
I am currently the health tech. I am in my third year as the health tech at Midland.
I enjoy working with children. I have 3 adult children and 4 grandsons. I love being a mom and Mimi.
I love to travel and craft.

Hello, my name is Christine Briggs and I am the School Nurse here at Midland! I knew from the moment I walked through the front doors, that I loved it here. The warmth and kindness of the staff and students radiates throughout the building.
This is my first year with D11 and Midland, although I have been a nurse for 20 years and have worked in many different roles throughout my career. I have loved them all, but I can say school nursing is now my favorite! I began my career in an acute hospital setting before moving into hospice home care, then a corporate role as a case manager with an insurance company, until finally settling into my most recent role as School Nurse. I have always enjoyed my nursing jobs and am very thankful for the diversity they have provided me in my background as a nurse because I can see how it has so thoroughly prepared me for this role as the School Nurse.
I LOVE children. Engaging with them and being able to encourage them while comforting and caring for them is one of the most rewarding experiences ever and is the main reason I love working as a School Nurse. Being a mother of 2 elementary aged kids of my own, I now understand how powerful this loving care and encouragement is, in the development of a positive self-identity and self-value in the lives of our children.
I have been with my husband and best friend for over 20 years and as I mentioned, we have 2 beautiful children, Sophie (9) and Benjamin (7). We love parenting them (although it comes with its many challenges!) and we learn a lot each day!
I feel very fortunate to be given this opportunity to partake in the loving growth and development for all the kids of Midland, while also keeping them safe and healthy.
I am honored to have joined the family here, it truly is a special group of caring professionals and students.
