Hi Midland Families!

I’m Rebecca Gallegos and am one of the counselors.  This is my 4th year at Midland Elementary School and 37th year in CSSD 11.  I have been a Spanish and English teacher, Dean and Counselor.  I “flunked” retirement and returned to Midland to work half time.

I have two grown children and five precious grandchildren.  They live in Colorado, so we spend a lot of time together.  In my free time I enjoy gardening, singing, traveling, hiking, swimming, and reading.  I attend many of my grandchildren’s academic and athletic events.

I love working with students as they grow not only academically but also emotionally.  I'm excited to be a part of the Midland Family again this year and look forward to an amazing year.

Greetings Midland Community,

My name is Teresa Grant, one of your part-time school counselors. I’m grateful to be part of a learning community that educates the whole child, inspiring them to become critical, empathetic, and compassionate lifelong learners contributing positively to society.

I’m a nationally certified Licensed Professional Counselor, experienced K-6 teacher endorsed in Gifted and Talented education. As a child, adolescent, and family therapist, I provide support for social/emotional, behavioral, and cognitive disorders.

I graduated from The University of Northern Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. After the enriching experience of teaching elementary school for many years in diverse cultural & social economic settings, I made the decision to return to school to pursue a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling.

I’m a native of Colorado Springs’ “West Side.” It was here that my love of nature and horses took root. As a child, I loved exploring my neighborhood and surrounding woods on horseback with my friends. This “big backyard” awakened in me at an early age a sense of wonder and discovery that I would later share with children in my role as a teacher, Young Environmental Stewards instructor, and Equine Assisted Psychotherapist. These experiences and countless others have served as the foundation from which I continue to grow in my work with children, families, and communities.

Please know I’m available and look forward to meeting you and discussing how I can best support you and your children. Feel free to contact me via email. teresa.grant@d11.org. I will be in touch and hope to meet you soon.

Warmly,

Teresa J. Grant, LPC, NCC
